I see you found me. Welcome. Here is a little background.
I started on Ingres in 1989 when I began an information systems project at Bell Laboratories. This project provided a software system to manage projects and eventually grew to cover 3 divisions in (AT&T/Lucent) Switching Systems. During this time in my career I was President of the Midwest Ingres Users Association, made several presentations at IngresWorld (CAWorld), and with my close friend was awarded several patents in the field.
When the telecom business "hit the skids" in 2001 I joined the Ingres Premium Services team for the U.S. market and I have been here since then.
I have a number of special interests most of which show up on this community Wiki.
- Macintosh, and in particular the Mac port of Ingres.
- Java and JDBC, with emphasis on frameworks such as EJB, Hibernate, etc. I work with both the Eclipse and NetBeans application development environments.
- Ruby on Rails, in large measure because a critically important organization, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which I support is working on a Ruby on Rails deployment. And because it is cool.
When not completely inside the Ingres world, I enjoy backpacking, volleyball, and golf.
