Ingres Roadmap
From Ingres Community Wiki
The Ingres Roadmap is made up of many different projects that extend and enhance the Ingres database, OpenROAD, our Developer Tools (Connectivity) and our Admin Suite. These projects share their resources and are a part of a unified community. For more about what defines one of these projects and sets it apart from other efforts within the community, click on a project below.
Items will be delivered as quickly as possible while adhering to a rigorous design and development methodology. As coding completes, the new feature will be reflected in our Subversion Code Repository and the availability status updated on this page. If you are interested in testing these enhancements, please download the latest version of Ingres Source Code from our code repository. We welcome all feedback either on the design, implementation, or functionality. Please let us know of any bugs you find as you test the new functionality.
This page is where we provide a brief summary on the planned projects for the next release. The page will be continually updated as additional projects are added to a planned release or a new release targeted.

Ingres DBMS New, Removed, and Deprecated Feature per Release
It's always challenging to discover what features were released in a particular version when you are assessing what is involved when upgrading from one Ingres release to another especially if you are running on a much older version of Ingres.
This document attempts to complement the Ingres Migration Guide by not only providing the list of features but also including the associated project page if one exists on the Community Wiki. In some cases, the release will predate the move by Ingres Engineering to make the design documents of new features readily accessible to the community. The Ingres Migration Guide should always be the first point of reference when research is underway concerning a migration from one Ingres release to another.
If you are also migrating from OpenROAD, information regarding what features where released in a particular version is available at OpenROAD New Features per Release.
- Ingres 9.3.x New Features - This release was a Windows and Linux Only Release
- Ingres 9.2 New, Removed, and Deprecated Features - This release was also known as Ingres 2006r3
- Ingres 9.1 New, Removed, and Deprecated Features - This release was also known as Ingres 2006r2
- Ingres 9.0.x New, Removed and Deprecated Features - This release was also known as r3 (3.0.x: CA's Ingres OpenSource release) and was rebranded as Ingres 2006 by Ingres Corporation.
