Hi:

I am afraid OpenROAD 4.1 is not certified for Windows 7.

You are more than welcome to test it out, but if it is not running/installing, there will not be any
more fixes/patches provided for OpenROAD 4.1 .

Regards,
Anton

Smile Empire with Windows 7

It's a good Proposal: Windows 7 with Openroad 2006.

But I have no experience in Openroad2006.

I have only experience in Empire.

Empire (the OpenSource of Openroad), does it run under Windows 7. (I have installed a User-Application with Empire and Windows XP. It runs without problems. All functions of this application runs without faults.)

If you have experience with Empire you actually have experience with OpenROAD 2006. Empire and OpenROAD 2006 run on top of the same runtime which is not open source. Good to know that Empire works fine with Windows 7 in your testing. I currently don't know of any issues with the runtime and Windows 7 though a user with a very complex application has mentioned that he has seen some problems. The next release of the runtime will be certified against Windows 7. This release will formally be called OpenROAD 5.1. Actually, OpenRoad 2006 has an internal release number of 5.0. We are just changing our naming of the product from the year it was released in to use the actual release number.

Thanks for your question,

-Joe
