I am running Ingres II 2.6/0305 (int.w32/00) on windows 2000 box.From couple of days my database is crashing and I am not able to get to the root of the issue.

Below is the part of the log file when the database crashed.

I suppose there are other errors in the logfile at the time when Ingres crashes, if you really mean the system goes down. In the log extract you posted, I see problems with writing a table/index but not that Ingres is stopping.

Apparently the table addom is corrupted. Did you have disk problems of any kind before this started?
If it is a secondary index then try to drop and rebuild it.
If it's a base table, the best way to recover is to restore from a backup (checkpoint or unload). You could try to fix the table using the verifydb command with the operations table or xtable, but that no guarantee.
If you want to know what query generates the errors, set the trace point sc924.

Thanks both of you for your replies. The issue is that the DBMS Server service and the Archiver Process service were stopped and hence I cannot access the instance ipsprd either through the VDBA or through the application. I have restarted the Ingres service and found that the adom table is corrupted. I am getting the following error while performing select or modify option E_QE0083 Error modifying a table. I don't have a backup as the server is too old and there is no space to keep the backup. I tried to use the following command to fix the table verifydb -mrun -otable addom -sdbname ipsprd but with no luck. Please let me know if there is any other way around. Also I do not have Ingres support.

You can try set trace point dm801 to see if that will let you read the table, either to modify it or to copy it out. That may or may not work, and it may or may not return all the rows, but it's worth a try.
