We are trying to recover a table as of a certain date&time. Is there a way to recover the table without restoring the whole database to that point?

    Yes, but...

Table-level recovery from a checkpoint is possible, even up to a specific moment in time. It is not fully documented, I suppose because in general it is full of hidden dangers for the logical consistency of the database. (For instance it is very easy to lose referential integrity.) If you have a support subscription contact tech support. If you don't, try posting this question on the Ingres DBA forum. (A blog entry like this is not likely to get noticed by many people.)
