Value not in Optionfield Choicelist

I am using OpenRoad for Windows 4.1/0403 (int w32/00) .

Can optionfields display values not in the choicelist?

The optionfields are not dynamically created.

An example: optionfield has two choices: "Yes" and "No". It gets the value from a database which has a null. The optionfield displays "Yes" because there is no empty value in the choicelist. The problem is that the screen is not displaying the value.

Optionfields have a style option OF_EDITABLE which allows the user to enter a value not in the choicelist but after that value is saved and the optionfield reappears, the value is what the user entered but that value is not displayed to the user. Does OF_EDITABLE behave differently in other versions of OpenRoad?

You have to extend the field's ValueList when the value is not in the list yet.
This would have to be done in SetValue event block (as this event is triggered when the user enters a new value in the field).
